Primary Purpose This individual will be responsible for representing B&V outage management methodologies and capabilities in the field with clients. The successful candidate will be assisting in the execution services specifically associated with equipment maintenance either in an outage or routing maintenance activities. The overall objective of these services is to aid clients with the maintenance and reliability of their fossil fuel power plants.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities B&V’s Asset Management Team offers on site consulting and engineering services, outage management planning and support services, and performance improvement/optimization services for the energy industry. The individual in this role will work with a group of first-rate professionals and will be exposed to a wide variety of job assignments, including strategy development. The primary emphasis of this position will be to support our efforts to integrate our fossil unit performance improvement capabilities to a more comprehensive consulting services offering addressing outage and maintenance management functions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION INCLUDE:
• Consulting with electric power generation clients in order to assist them with the improvement of their outage and specifically maintenance process.
• Supporting the scope development, planning and management of outages for clients.
• Performing condition assessments on power generation facilities and specifically on turbine and/or generator systems.
• Performing project management duties to include proposal development and budget management.
• Cooperatively working with our sales staff to develop and execute market and sales pursuit strategies.
• Consulting with clients to improve the reliability and maintainability of steam turbine-generators, boilers, gas turbines, and balance of plant equipment operations and maintenance practices.
Providing consulting services to clients to improve their maintenance management processes including project engineering, planning and budgeting as well as the optimization of major outages for fossil fuel power plants. Work assignments will likely involve international travel and extended stays at project sites.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Physical, Earth, or Life Science from an accredited university OR
a Minimum of 10 years of experience in maintenance, engineering, and/or operations, positions in the fossil fuel power generation industry, in leiu of a college degree.
Preferred Job Qualifications The ideal candidate will have multiple years of experience (and progressively responsible) in plant maintenance at either (or preferably both) a solid fuel or gas turbine power generating station. The candidate needs to have a thorough understanding of the use of multiple predictive and preventive maintenance technologies to effectively maintain, and diagnose problems with, power plant systems.
Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills. Demonstrated experience with Primavera P6 and OSI PI.
