Division Marketing Statement Black & Veatch Management Consulting (BVMC) is selectively expanding within one of the world’s most respected engineering, consulting and construction management firms. We seek a Project Manager level professional to join more than 250 consultants, regulatory policy advisors, technology specialists, and internationally respected subject matter experts.

The ICE consulting practice provides strategic, financial and process-based advisory services to private and investor-owned energy companies, municipalities, and government agencies. The ICE consulting practice provides services in the North American electric, oil & gas, renewable (solar and wind) and water market segments including: asset valuation and planning, , feasibility assessments of new technologies, to complete assessments of all phases of a project development or acquisition, sustainability, smart grid strategy. This role will initially focus on Solar energy projects with the possibility of work in other energy generation technologies.
Primary Purpose Responsible for contributing to the completion of multiple engagement phases. Delegate team work assignments through various phases of an engagement. Demonstrate capabilities with minimal oversight. May manage projects from prospect to client deliverable.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities The individual should have 3 to 7 years consulting experience (either engineering or finance)and has a working knowledge of renewable energy technologies (especially solar). The position is to support technical, finance, and commercial evaluation of renewable projects as Lenders Engineer and/or Independent Engineer. Knowledge of both contract structures, project development, and project finance process is key. Comfort dealing with investment bankers, transaction attorneys, Project developers is key. Individual will be working with an internal multi-discipline team of engineers, consultants and financial analysts. Experience with or exposure to large commercial banks, private equity and energy developers during financing transactions is a plus. Candidate must be comfortable with interfacing with renewable technologists, understanding contractual requirements, evaluating financial pro forma analyses , and creating/editing detailed reports.

Formulates issue-based hypotheses and develops analytical plan for testing. Contributes to analysis of impact of strategic changes by defining linkages and interdependencies. Industry Knowledge Capability Utilizes specialized knowledge to produce moderately complex work products and solutions across all phases of an engagement. Applies appropriate methods or recognized equivalent to identified client needs. Anticipates and resolve technical problems with occasional technical assistance from others. Leverages knowledge and experience to assess alternative approaches to solving problems. Develops, presents, and defends conclusions, recommendations, and implementation plans. Contributes to quality reviews of assigned engagements. Identifies technical issues impacting an engagement and proposes solutions. Analyzes and applies best practices knowledge of the industry. Identifies specific business issues and implications by applying knowledge of the industry or an industry segment. Evaluates the practicality of and implements industry specific solutions.
Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s Degree. Experience: 7 years experience in business/consulting. MBA preferred. Nice to have: Engineering degree with renewable experience (solar preferred).
