Primary Purpose:

Design of power distribution systems and motor control systems for water and wastewater treatment plants.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

•Design of power distribution systems and motor control systems for water and wastewater treatment plants.

•Design of ancillary systems including earthing systems, lightning protection systems, lighting/small power, telephone, intercom, UPS systems, and fire alarm and detection.

•Preparation of single line diagrams, electrical schematics, and GA drawings.

•Preparation and reviewing of load studies including load flows, fault current calculations, and coordination studies.

•Preparation of electrical equipment specifications.

•Coordination with other disciplines eg civil, structural, building systems mechanical, and instrumentation & control designers.

•Attend meetings, discussions with clients, contractors, vendors and to participate/ lead design discussions.

•Provide engineering support to contractors in bids & proposals.

Minimum Qualifications:

Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 3 years related work experience All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Preferred Job Qualifications:

•Degree in Electrical Engineering, recognized by Engineers Australia

•Minimum 5 years relevant detail design experience, in water and wastewater

•Familiar with Australian Standards

•Familiar with design management processes, safety in design, quality management etc

•Experience working on projects for major water utilities and contractors

•Able to work independently as well as in a team to meet tight project timelines
