Electrical Engineer 4
Functions as a technical specialist or in a lead role. With minimal supervision, applies advanced engineering techniques and analyses for problems and methods. Expands knowledge and skill set in area of discipline. May start to expand knowledge in other disciplines and/or functional areas.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare a variety of complex electrical engineering deliverables for larger or multiple projects; perform complex research and develops recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection; oversee collection, assimilation, and management of data for engineering work; prepare complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles; manage assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements; independently apply advanced engineering techniques and analysis problems and methods; actively coordinate with all other internal/external team members on moderately complex projects; serve as a technical specialist with knowledge and skill sets to provide consultation and guidance to project teams in a particular practice area; typically support multiple projects on the complex technical challenges; actively foster knowledge management and provide mentoring; develop and apply advanced engineering concepts and approaches to unique engineering problems.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related, plus five years of related experience in Substation Design or Control & Protection on Substation Projects. Must have professional engineering (PE) license in any U.S. state. Experience must include supervision of engineers and designers on substation detailed design projects. Software experience must include use of ETAP and SKM. Must have experience with Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) and General Electric (GE) relays, protection and control experience on substation projects, relay settings, and coordination. Must have good written and verbal communication skills in English.
