Primary Purpose Provide engineering related design, analysis, and studies for domestic or international projects.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities Develops, plans, coordinates and directs the engineering work for a major project, or several smaller, but complex projects, or for the design within a specific discipline. This includes work assignments, staffing, scheduling and review Develops or evaluates plans/criteria or special analyses required in support of the engineering effort. Develops new or improved techniques or procedures for application in unique engineering Coordinates the design of assigned systems or projects with involved B&V personnel and client management. Maintains engineering records, lists and reports as required to ensure compliance with the client's schedule, adherence to the budget, adherence to procurement specification, or to ensure engineering problems are monitored and resolved. Supports continuous improvement efforts and the change management effects associated with the implementation of improvements.
Minimum Qualifications Minimum of 8 year’s of experience performing engineering related duties. ; Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either an ABET accredited program in the USA or an engineering program, offered by a foreign institution, accepted as valid in the home country or the country in which the individual is practicing. The incumbent must have the PE license in the USA or be in active pursuit of such registration if not already registered* or foreign registration, if available, which is accepted as valid in the home country or the country in which the individual is practicing, or active pursuit of registration acceptable in the country of practice*.

Objectives
The overall objectives served by employment of an Engineering Manager in the Gaithersburg office are to ensure the production of high quality engineering on projects, work closely with Project Managers in delivering projects that meet budget, scope schedule and quality goals, increase the technical capabilities within the Jacksonville office, contribute to the professional growth of the technical staff in the East Region, and work in close coordination with Client Service Managers and Project Managers in capturing new work. This Engineering Manager’s primary focus will be on the Washington DC area, but may also be involved in projects throughout the East Region and the Water Sector.
PE license in the USA is required. Minimum experience of 8 years performing engineering related duties.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Serve as the technical lead on water and wastewater related projects ensuring the projects are completed to the client’s expectations and B&V standards. More emphasis in water related projects is preferred.
• Deliver projects that meet budget, scope, schedule, and quality goals
• Monitor the progress of all assigned projects through regular reviews of budget, scope, schedule and financial performance and direct corrections as needed.
• Provide technical leadership for the Gaithersburg office
• Ensure quality assurance and quality control procedures are followed
• Provide leadership to project teams by setting goals, monitoring performance, and providing feedback
• Mentor the engineering staff to develop their professional skills
• Assist with the proactive marketing of projects to help determine the client’s needs and our pursuit approach
• Maintain effective relationships with client staff
• Leverage existing client relationships to identify new projects
• Assist with the development of scope and budgets for new projects and assist in negotiating contracts with clients in support of the Project Manager.
• Assist with monitoring budget and schedule on projects and take corrective action as required
• Assist with the recruitment of new hires
