Primary Purpose:

Under general supervision, performs basic functions requiring technical knowledge utilizing electronic applications, processes, standards and document control processes/procedures for the purpose of creating or modifying deliverable. Evaluates methods used to accomplish the drafting and/or design activities.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

The individual in this role will continually learn and apply standards, systems, document control, departmental guides and B&V policies and procedures while supporting Black & Veatch clients in the Power industry.

This individual will ensure that deliverables are accurate and compliant by continually developing knowledge of the B&V Quality Program and will demonstrate personal accuracy and support continuous improvement and change management efforts.

Additionally, the individual in this position will broaden his/her knowledge of the applications required to modify and develop less complex deliverables based on a variety of design inputs and might assist with minor computations such as material quantity estimates and dimensional checks. Additionally, this person might assist in coordinating deliverables with other groups involved on the same project to minimize interference or errors.

Finally, this role will require the individual to focus on the needs of internal clients while attempting to gain basic understanding of external client's main interests and drivers, all while proactively participating in knowledge sharing, innovation and technology - continually seeking and sharing knowledge of the latest technologies and processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of 1 year of work experience in drafting or design.

Experience with AutoCAD & Microstation.

Preferred Job Qualifications:

Proficiency with Bentley Microstation preferred, 1+ years’ experience.

Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.

Experience with AutoCAD and/or PLS-CADD are a plus, but not required.
